Job Description:

Join our team as a travel Registered Nurse at a vibrant hospital in College Station, Texas, where your skills will be put to the test in a fast-paced Emergency Department. This 13-week contract involves night shifts of 12 hours each, offering a chance to experience the unique rhythm of overnight healthcare. You'll be caring for a diverse patient population, from pediatric cases to complex trauma, with opportunities to precept and lead in a supportive environment. The setting features a well-equipped ER pipeline including trauma bays, critical rooms, and a dedicated psych unit—so you’ll stay engaged and challenged. Note: No patient care is required outside the ER setting, and the focus is on emergency stabilization rather than long-term treatment.

Additional responsibilities include managing common ER drips like pressors and sedation, reading EKGs, troubleshooting ventilators, and participating in triage when required. The hospital features a Level III Trauma designation, with approximately 70 patients treated daily. You’ll work alongside MDs in-house 24/7 and support a team that handles pediatrics, cardiac emergencies—including STEMIs—and strokes. Orientation is typically 1-3 shifts, and self-scheduling options are available within a matrix system. The hospital encourages travelers to extend their stay if they enjoy the experience.
