Job Description:
Join our team for an exciting 13-week contract in the Progressive Care Unit at a reputable medical center in Independence, Missouri. This role is perfect for critical care nurses with strong assessment skills and experience managing vasoactive drips. You’ll be working 12-hour day shifts, providing top-tier care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on bedside reporting and hourly rounding. The unit handles a variety of complex cases, including patients requiring advanced respiratory support like BiPAP and heated high-flow nasal cannulas. This is an excellent opportunity to gain specialized experience, collaborate with a dedicated team, and enjoy a unique setting that combines a busy professional environment with the charm of Missouri.

Job Specifics:
Location: Independence, Missouri
Shift: 12-hour days

Hours per week: 36 hours
Candidates should be prepared to work every 3rd weekend and be flexible with floating policies within the unit. The role requires current BLS and ACLS certifications, along with experience managing vasoactive drips and performing procedures like PICC line placements and chest tube insertions. The unit proudly holds the distinctions of being a Level 2 trauma center, Stroke and STEMI accredited, and a Certified Bariatric Center. Dress code involves charcoal grey scrubs, with preferred unit-specific jackets available.
