Job Description:

This travel assignment is for an experienced critical care RN supporting a cardiothoracic ICU in Monterey. The role focuses on receiving fresh open-heart surgical patients from the operating room and providing immediate postoperative care, including management of CABG, valve replacement, aortic dissection, thoracotomy, carotid, and other complex cardiovascular cases.

You will care for patients requiring ventilators, chest tubes, Swan-Ganz monitoring, IABP support, CRRT, and titration of critical care drips. The unit also manages bedside procedures, post-cath recovery, sepsis, respiratory distress, and occasional neurological or pediatric cases. Recent post-op open-heart experience is preferred, with experience within the past year required. Epic experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.

Job Specifics:

Location: Monterey, California

Shift: 12-hour days, typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Duration: 36 hours per week for 13 weeks
