Job Description:

This ICU Registered Nurse role places you on a surgical ICU floor specializing in thoracic surgeries, skin flaps, chest tube management, and esophagectomy procedures. You'll be working 12-hour day shifts, supporting a team that includes intensivists, nurse practitioners, CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and hospitalists. The unit makes use of EPIC documentation, SBAR communication, and Pyxis medication systems. Expect to assist with complex cases involving multi-system organ failure, dysrhythmia management, ventilator use, dialysis, and blood product administration. You'll experience steady daily census with approximately 12 patients, providing intensive bedside care in a fast-paced, teaching hospital setting. Float within similar ICU areas is possible based on your competencies, giving you the chance to broaden your expertise in critical care situations. This assignment offers a balanced mix of technical challenges and collaborative patient management, perfect for a seasoned ICU RN ready to step into a supportive, high-acuity environment.
