Job Description:

This travel nursing opportunity places you on the 20-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit of a bustling urban hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. You'll work 12-hour night shifts, primarily from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, providing care to adult patients with diverse medical conditions such as orthopedic surgeries, pulmonary issues, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. Be prepared to float within the scope of your expertise across various units, including neuro, trauma, and observation, making this a versatile and engaging assignment. The hospital values experienced nurses who thrive in fast-paced settings and are comfortable with behavioral health patient management, safety training, and de-escalation techniques. You'll briefly join a team of ancillary staff including care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics, with some units operating with LPN support. This role offers the chance to work on a secure floor with a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio at night, with rare occasions reaching 1:7. Expect to manage IV drips, use EPIC charting systems proficiently, and meet the criteria of at least 2 years of recent experience in a large urban hospital. Your skills will contribute directly to maintaining the high standards of Nebraska Medicine, one of the top-rated hospitals in the region, and you'll be part of a team shaping innovative patient care and research projects.
