Job Description:

As a Medical Surgical RN on this 13-week travel assignment, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to a diverse patient population, including general medical, surgical, orthopedic, stroke, and remote telemetry monitored patients. Your role involves performing EKGs, IV insertions, medication administration, Foley insertions, vital signs assessment, and assisting with rapid sequence intubation (RSI) procedures. You'll also conduct point-of-care testing such as blood glucose checks. This position offers a chance to work in a unit with 30 beds, maintaining a patient ratio of approximately 1:6, and involves a mix of scheduled and floating shifts, primarily during nights. The role requires 1-2+ years of Med Surg experience, your proficiency with Cerner EMR, and compliance with BLS, ALCS, and NIHSS certifications. Expect a schedule of 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend and holiday coverage.
