Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract offers an engaging opportunity to work as a SICU Registered Nurse in Bowling Green, Kentucky. You will be providing specialized care in a high-acuity, mixed patient population—primarily vascular surgery cases such as AAA repairs, carotid endarterectomies, and femoral popliteal bypass procedures. The role features 12-hour night shifts, with a maximum patient ratio of 1:2-3 on the unit and 1:4-5 in step-down areas, depending on patient acuity. Your responsibilities will include critical assessments, managing vascular and thoracic post-operative patients, and utilizing current stroke management protocols. Emphasis will be placed on surgical and cardiac experience, as well as adherence to competency standards such as NIHSS certification and bedside dysphagia screening. The position requires flexibility to float within scope and stay within 30 minutes of the facility for emergencies, ensuring prompt response at all times. This is a fast-paced, challenging role suitable for experienced RNs ready to make an impact in a specialized critical care setting.
