Join the nursing team on a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts in a busy ICU and progressive care unit. This role offers the opportunity to manage both critically ill patients and those in recovery, with responsibilities including caring for ventilated patients, initiating IV drips, assisting with intubations, and monitoring patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, and pulmonary embolism. This role requires strong ICU experience with a minimum of 1.5 years, preferably 2 years, including familiarity with ventilated patients, IV titrations, and critical care procedures. Note that hours during orientation are non-billable, and the facility offers flexibility for time off with a 24-hour call-off policy per contract. The unit cares for a mix of ICU and progressive patients, often floating to various units while maintaining patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3. Certification requirements include BLS and ACLS through AHA, and a valid Indiana RN license is essential. The unit maintains a professional dress code featuring Caribbean blue scrubs, with black or white jackets and undershirts. Orientation includes onboarding with Epic EMR training and a review of unit policies, ensuring you're well-prepared to deliver quality care from day one.
