Job Description:

Step into a travel contract supporting a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in Seattle, WA—where nights are fast-paced and every shift matters. In this role, you’ll work as the Registered Nurse who functions in the “Baby Nurse” capacity during delivery and continues newborn care through transfer to post partum. You’ll also circulate during cases and provide newborn-focused assessments, including eyes/thighs checks and required procedures.

You’ll be supported by EPIC, with electronic fetal monitoring and AWHONN-guided staffing practices. The unit handles a wide range of obstetric needs for midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic partners. Expect high acuity, frequent deliveries, and the opportunity to bring your skills in heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate medication support into a consistently busy setting.

Shift structure is 12-hour nights, working 3 shifts per week (19:00–07:30), including participation every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case, and floating may occur within Mother/Baby sister facilities (postpartum/antepartum) when unit needs require it.

Expect cool, often overcast days with occasional rain and crisp evenings. Mornings can start cloudy, and conditions can shift quickly—comfortable layering helps.
