Job Description:

Step into a 13-week travel contract as a PCU Registered Nurse (PCU RN) in Anchorage, Alaska, supporting a stepdown unit that helps bridge care from ICU-level intensity to focused monitoring across a wide mix of medical-surgical cases. This night shift role follows a 3x12 schedule (12-hour nights), where you’ll partner with a Virtual RN and CNA under a co-care/virtual nursing model. You’ll provide bedside nursing care for a blended patient mix that commonly includes cardiac conditions (such as CHF, MI, post-TAVR/MVR, pacemaker patients, and rhythm/arrhythmia cases), respiratory diagnoses (including COVID/flu exacerbations, COPD/asthma, trach patients more than 24 hours post-placement, and chronic home ventilators), and overflow for neuro and renal populations. Expect patients who may require high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP, along with more complicated medical-surgical scenarios that call for attentive stepdown-level observation.

On this assignment, your work will include supporting admission, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds—supported by virtual teammates—so you can bring calm, steady momentum to the unit’s nightly flow.
