Job Description:

This ICU RN contract offers a hands-on experience in a Level 1 Trauma Teaching Hospital, managing critically ill patients in a 14-bed Medical ICU. You will be responsible for caring for patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and GI bleed, while working with invasive monitoring tools like arterial lines and ventilators. The shift operates on 12-hour days, giving you a chance to immerse yourself in high-acuity care and collaborate with a team of specialists, including intensivists, resource nurses, and RTs. Unique aspects of this assignment include managing chronic ventilator and trach patients and performing bedside procedures like chest tube management and tracheostomy care, making this a rewarding environment for experienced ICU RNs eager to expand their skills.
