Job Description:

Join the Emergency Department team in Downers Grove, Illinois as a travel healthcare professional providing essential emergency services in a Level 1 Trauma Center. This contract is built around 12-hour nights, where you will evaluate and manage a wide range of urgent presentations, including trauma of all types, sepsis, DKA, MI, and stroke—along with a heavy focus on 65+ patients with complex comorbidities, and a strong presence of behavioral health and addiction-related visits.

You’ll work with a busy ER flow (about 120 visits per day) and a unit that runs on EPIC, featuring bedside telemetry and continuous support from ER techs, RT 24/7, and hospitalists 24/7. Expect an emergency scale of heavy acuity, with RN staffing typically supporting 1:3–6 based on acuity.

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (CPI/MOAB preferred). Experience with trauma (trauma cert required), stroke, cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, vent management, TPA administration, conscious sedation, and assisting with splinting is essential. EPIC experience is required, and you should be comfortable with core ED skills such as IV starts, foley placement, wound care, and NGT placement.
