Job Description:

Join a travel healthcare team as a PCU/IMC/Stepdown Registered Nurse in Springfield, Illinois, supporting a fast-moving acute care setting focused on stepdown-level monitoring and interdisciplinary care coordination. This assignment runs on 12-hour day shifts in a 3x12 or 4x12 schedule (0645–1915), with the option to accommodate 4x12s based on preference. You’ll work with telemetry-focused workflows and the stepdown rhythm of caring for higher-acuity conditions—handling dysrhythmia interpretation and response, participating in rapid response readiness, and managing common cardiovascular, neuro, respiratory, and post-procedural needs that come with an IMC/PCU setting. If you’re a first-timer, this role isn’t a fit—minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required, and you’ll be expected to float within scope as needed to meet facility requirements.

Work-ready credentials include BLS and NIH. ACLS is preferred. This position does not include on-call duties. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, and you must have an active Illinois license to apply.

Bring experience with telemetry and neuro stepdown/PCU care pathways (including dysrhythmia management and rapid response support), plus exposure to common stepdown skills such as feeding tube management, post-cath/surgery transitions (including TR band care), heparin protocols, central line care, and respiratory support workflows such as CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy management. Cerner experience and teaching hospital experience are preferred. Level I trauma experience is preferred.
