Job Description:

Join an operating room team in San Diego, supporting surgical workflow in the OR suite. In this travel contract, you’ll assist with case preparation and anticipate needs before and during each procedure, including end-of-case support such as dressing and/or cast application assistance. You’ll follow physician preference cards to pick up cases, complete unit support responsibilities, and step in without needing direction to fulfill established duties.

You’ll also own critical documentation and communication requirements, including surgical counts (before the patient leaves the room), instrument tray accountability, and reporting any count exceptions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining regulatory training and certifications within required time frames, updating surgeon preference cards as process requires, and participating in teaching and continuous process improvement.

Expect mild, pleasant coastal weather with plenty of sunshine and comfortable daytime temperatures, along with cooler evenings that can bring a light breeze.

Shift: 12 hour days

Duration: 13 weeks

On-call expectation (in a 4-week period): 12h weekend and 20h weekday of on call; 30-minute response time. Weekend call is in addition to regularly scheduled weekend shift, with two shifts scheduled every other weekend. One shift per pay period may be cancelled without pay.
