Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment in Medford, Oregon, offers registered nurses the opportunity to work in a 38-bed MedSurg Post Surgical unit. The role involves 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with responsibilities including managing post-surgical patients with diagnoses such as general surgery, urology, abdominal procedures, amputations, trauma, ENT, and bariatrics (note: travelers typically do not handle cardiac, ortho, or neuro cases). You will work alongside a supportive team that includes CNAs and a charge nurse, participate in bedside report and hourly rounding, and utilize your skills with chest tubes, central lines, heparin drips, NG tubes, JP drains, wound vacs, and dressing changes. Experience with titratable drips like heparin and set-rate infusions such as amiodarone or cardizem is preferred. The unit features remote tele-monitoring, and nurses are expected to interpret basic strip rhythms. This assignment is unique for its opportunity to float to other med-surg units or ICU as needed, providing a varied and engaging experience for adaptable RNs.
