Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract placements you in the Labor and Delivery unit of a busy hospital in Freeport, Illinois. The role involves managing labor, delivery, and postpartum care, with a focus on supporting both mother and baby through labor and recovery. Your responsibilities include circulating in the OR for C-sections, stabilizing newborns, and providing couplet care post-recovery. An ideal candidate will possess at least one year of LDRP experience, equipped to handle common diagnoses like preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and preterm labor. You're expected to titrate drips such as Pitocin and insulin, and work alongside a dedicated team that includes OB hospitalists and in-house anesthesia. The unit operates on 12-hour night shifts, with a requirement to work every other or third weekend and half the holidays. You'll also handle occasional call-backs for LOA or vacation coverage, with a flexible schedule and limited floating to nearby units.
