Job Description:

This NICU Registered Nurse (RN) contract offers a chance to work in a stepdown NICU environment, floating between neonatal intensive care and intermediate patient care. You'll be caring for neonates ranging from 29-34 weeks to larger infants over 34 weeks, managing everything from respiratory support with CPAPs, HFNC, and RAM to administering IV medications and monitoring blood glucose levels. The shift is nights—12-hour evening shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM—every other weekend, providing a steady rhythm with plenty of time to unwind. Projected weekly hours are 36, for a total of 13 weeks, making this a rewarding short-term opportunity for experienced neonatal nurses prepared to handle complex cases with minimal supervision.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of NICU experience, possessing specific skills like NICU II and III, telemetry monitoring, and neonatal medication management. Certifications such as BLS and NRP are required, along with comfort in handling IVs, blood products, and central lines. The role involves patient-specific tasks including phototherapy, breastfeeding support, respiratory management, and documenting care in Cerner. No first-time travelers are accepted; a strong background in neonatal interventions and family teaching is essential.
