Job Description:

This critical care nursing position in Alexandria, LA offers a chance to work in a high-acuity ICU specializing in both cardiac and medical patients. You'll be providing complex, routine, and emergency nursing care to patients with conditions like DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, and those on ventilators or post-cardiac surgeries. The role features 12-hour day shifts, with 36 hours guaranteed weekly, allowing for a balanced work schedule. This assignment is unique because you'll gain experience with advanced cardiac devices such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Impellas, and manage patients post-op cardiovascular surgeries. The environment requires independence, clinical expertise, and the ability to handle evolving patient needs with confidence. Overtime is available after 48 hours, but the focus remains on providing excellent patient care during your scheduled hours.
