Job Description:

Join our team for a 13-week travel contract as a registered nurse working 12-hour night shifts at a facility in Weirton, West Virginia. This role offers a chance to care for diverse patient populations, including orthopedic, urological, general, and cath lab patients. You'll be involved in tasks such as vital sign monitoring, wound care, managing catheters, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment like Cpap and BiPap devices. The assignment is tailored for RNs experienced in blood transfusions, wound Vac changes, PCA pump management, and heparin drips. Charge nurses supervise each shift, with some charge nurses assisting with small patient assignments during nights. Patient care techs assist with bathing, feeding, ambulation, and documentation. No Vents are on site, and RNs will only troubleshoot respiratory equipment. There are no monitor techs; interpreted strips are faxed to the nurse for review. The schedule operates from 7 AM to 7 PM for RNs and 6 AM to 6 PM for CNAs, with no self-scheduling or block scheduling. Every other weekend and some holidays are required, with a rotating holiday schedule. No on-call or standby duties are involved, but there is a rotating floating requirement, which may involve practice in other units at the facility. Scrubs are provided for nurses and PCTs, and orientation includes a day with an educator and additional preceptor-led days.
