Job Description:

Join UMMC's Level 1 trauma center as an experienced Acute Inpatient Medical Case Manager. This role involves managing a caseload of 15-20 complex inpatient cases daily across various hospital units. Your day will include discharge planning, utilization review, and telephonic communication with insurance providers. Expect to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal training, as you leverage your prior experience with large, busy hospitals. The assignment offers the chance to handle a diverse range of medical diagnoses and work alongside a dedicated social work team. Remote fingerprinting options are available, with in-person sessions at Jackson or Grenada. You will be part of a team that manages complex patient placements, including coordination with contracted facilities in a trauma-level environment. Flu vaccination and fingerprinting are required, and prior Epic charting proficiency is necessary. The shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week for 13 weeks.
