Job Description:

Join Ventura County Medical Center as a Step Down Registered Nurse in the DOU/Step Down unit for a 13-week contract. In this role, you'll work the night shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) on a 3x12 schedule, providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with complex needs such as CVA, neurosurgery recovery, spinal injuries, and ventilator management. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to hone advanced skills in telemetry, medication titration, and emergency response protocols. The unit operates with a patient census of 12 and a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, emphasizing teamwork and precision. RNs will manage telemetry, IV therapy, cardiac and vasoactive drips, and various respiratory devices, all while using systems like Cerner and Pyxis. Certification in ACLS, BCLS, NIH, and TNCC/TCAR is necessary, with CPI or MAB preferred. First-timers are welcome, provided the experience requirements are met. This is an excellent chance to experience a fast-paced, specialized clinical setting while making a difference in a dedicated team.
