Job Description:

This 13-week travel contract places you on a 12-hour night shift in a stepdown/med-surg unit located in Morgantown, West Virginia. You'll work in a 29-bed unit currently under construction, where all beds will be equipped for step-down care by early 2026. Your role involves managing a diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses, including ventilated patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. You’ll be expected to follow protocols for titrating drips such as Heparin, insulin, and anti-hypertensives, utilizing your Epic experience to handle complex medication management. The unit functions with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 on stepdown and 6:1 on floors, with trained Clinical Associates assisting with patient care. Charge RNs and House Supervisors are present 24/7, and you may be tasked with taking an assignment as the unit opens. You will be working in an environment where remote telemetry monitoring is utilized, relieving RNs from reading their own strips. Expect to be part of a team that values flexibility, as floating to other units when necessary is common. Dress code allows for any combination of royal blue and white scrubs, and there’s a focus on efficient teamwork to ensure quality patient care.
