Job Description:
This travel healthcare contract offers an engaging opportunity to work within a busy Level II Trauma Center in Green Bay, WI. As a PACU RN, you'll be integral to managing a high volume of inpatient and outpatient cases, including general surgery, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, orthopedics, cardiothoracic, and more. Your days will be filled with quick-paced recoveries, managing cardiac rhythms, and providing discharge instructions. The setting is a lively hub for surgical recovery, with a mix of adult and pediatric patients. An eye for detail and quick thinking will make this assignment stand out, especially if you have experience in recovering post-cath, bronchs, or IR patients. The shift is an 8-hour evening schedule for 13 weeks, with a supportive team including charge nurses, management, and a skilled team of support staff. This is your chance to hone your PACU skills in a well-equipped facility, with Epic EMR, IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing at your fingertips.
Weather:
Expect generally mild and pleasant weather, with warm summers and cold winters. It's a time of year when outdoor activities become especially enjoyable, with crisp air perfect for exploring local parks and scenic trails after work or on days off.
Fun Things To Do:
- Explore the Green Bay Botanical Garden and its beautiful seasonal displays.
- Visit the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame for a deep dive into local sports history.
- Take a day trip to Door County to enjoy scenic vistas, cherry orchards, and charming villages.
- Go kayaking or paddleboarding on the Fox River, offering a relaxing escape into nature.
- Discover local craft breweries and enjoy sampling unique Wisconsin brews.
Job Specifics:
Location: Green Bay, WI. Shift: 8-hour evenings. Duration: 13 weeks, with a 40-hour workweek. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekend rotations or on-call hours. There will be opportunities to float between Main PACU and East PACU within the same facility, supporting a variety of recovery stages for a diverse patient population. This role requires at least two years of PACU experience, including post-cath and IR recoveries, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and either CAPA or CPAN. The environment is fast-paced, and you'll work with advanced equipment like Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensers, supported by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
