Job Description:
Join us in Tacoma for an engaging 15-week contract working as a Break Nurse in our Level II Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU. This role involves managing high-acuity obstetric cases, including hypertension, preterm labor, and cesarean deliveries. You'll work four 12-hour night shifts per week, supporting a vibrant team dedicated to delivering exceptional perinatal care. Experience in labor and delivery with a solid charge nurse background is essential, and EPIC proficiency is required. This assignment offers the unique opportunity to be a key part of a busy obstetric unit, with support from a full team of CNAs, scrub techs, and NICU RTs, all while enjoying the city’s inviting atmosphere.

Job Specifics:
Location: Tacoma, WA
Shift: 10-hour nights
Duration: 15 weeks, with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts per week (total of 48 hours with OT after 48 hours).
This role focuses on supporting labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and OB emergency patients, including high-risk cases. You will be facilitating labor management, monitoring fetal strips, assisting in OR, and providing support during various obstetric procedures. The position requires strong leadership skills as you will serve as a Charge Nurse for your shift, with responsibilities including staff management and conflict resolution. EPIC experience is mandatory, and a minimum of two years of recent obstetric nursing experience is preferred. You will also work with a team of CNAs, scrub techs, NICU RTs, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
