Job Description:
Join us in Evansville, Indiana, for a 13-week travel nursing contract in a busy medical-surgical unit. This role involves working 12-hour day shifts, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, providing critical support in a 41-bed unit with an experienced team and leadership. You'll be working with a diverse patient population, including post-surgical cases, UTI, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and high fall risk patients. The assignment offers the chance to showcase your strong assessment skills, manage complex cases like chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, heparin drips, and blood administration, all while working in a hospital that values resilience and adaptability. The unit's environment is busy yet supportive, with CNA assistance and a focus on excellent patient outcomes. It's a great opportunity to build your skills in a reputable teaching hospital, with potential precepting responsibilities and occasional float requirements within the campus or to nearby facilities.

Job Specifics:
Location: Evansville, IN
Shift: 12 hours, days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 36 hours (up to 48 hours upon request), with overtime after 52 hours on a 48-hour contract. Additional float to nearby campuses may be required. Requires recent EPIC charting experience, and active compact license, with BLS and NIHSS certifications. The unit supports a quick-paced, thorough environment with a focus on assessment and critical thinking skills. The position involves working with patients requiring complex interventions such as chest tubes, NG/PEG feeds, blood products, and trach care. The unit is well-staffed with experienced leadership and CNA support, offering a great environment for professional growth and a chance to be part of a dedicated team.
