Job Description:

Join UVA's Step Down unit as a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced environment focusing on acute and intermediate care for thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgery patients. This 13-week contract involves 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00) with a commitment of 48 hours per week. You’ll be managing a variety of complex post-operative patients, including those recovering from CABG, lung resections, and transplants, in a 28-bed unit that balances advanced monitoring with compassionate care. Every other weekend and holiday off, with opportunities for additional time off if desired. BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred. Two years of RN experience and Virginia license (or pending) are necessary. Epic system experience is a plus. This role offers a unique chance to work in a respected academic setting while honing your skills in a specialized cardiovascular surgical unit.
