Job Description:

Join UVA’s step-down nursing team on the 4 East unit, where you'll provide specialized care for thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgical patients. This position involves caring for patients recovering from procedures like CABG, lung resections, and heart transplants, among others. You'll be working with a nurse-patient ratio of 4 or 5:1 in acute care and 3:1 in TIMU, ensuring each patient receives attentive monitoring that matches their needs. The role requires night shift hours—12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM—on a schedule of three nights per week, with every other weekend work and flexibility around certain holidays. Expect to be part of a team that values clinical expertise and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with the possibility of extended assignments through early 2027.
