This role is perfect for experienced Tele/ICU RNs looking to sharpen their assessment skills in a fast-paced, hospital setting that values resilience and critical thinking. The shift includes some cross-campus float opportunities and requires proficiency in EPIC charting, with some precepting involved. This is a unique chance to work at a seasoned teaching hospital with a supportive, long-standing team and a dedicated manager overseeing the unit for over 15 years—an environment where your expertise truly makes an impact.

Job Specifics:

Location: Evansville, IN
Shift: 12-hour days
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours per week: 36 guaranteed (may accept up to 48) with overtime after 52 hours on 48hr contracts.
Please note: Cross-campus float to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles away) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles). Every other weekend and holiday work are required. Certification in AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS is mandatory, along with a minimum of two years’ cardiac/telemetry experience. Recent EPIC charting experience and proficiency in interpreting 12-lead ECGs are essential for success. The unit has 41 beds, with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-7 at night. This clinical role actually involves hands-on interpretation and management of arrhythmias and medication titrations rather than patient care in the traditional sense—perfect for a skilled telemetry nurse seeking a challenging yet rewarding contract opportunity.
