Job Description

Join a pediatric psychiatric nursing team in Bangor, Maine, for a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts. This role focuses primarily on adolescents and children ages 5–18 with a range of behavioral health needs, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, autism, trauma, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. You may also float to an adult psychiatric unit when needed.

You will provide redirection and de-escalation, assist with activities of daily living, complete frequent safety rounds, serve as a 1:1 sitter when assigned, obtain EKGs as needed, and participate in physical holds using the least restrictive intervention appropriate to the situation. Nurses work alongside psychiatric technicians, providers, therapists, and onsite support staff. Prior inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred, along with experience working with pediatric or adolescent patients. First-time travelers are welcome.
