Job Description

Take on a 13-week travel ICU nursing contract in Parkersburg, West Virginia, caring for mixed-acuity cardiac and critical care patients. This assignment includes ICU and step-down patients, with responsibilities involving fresh and post-operative open-heart cases, acute myocardial infarctions, cardiac arrests, heart failure, pulmonary embolisms, cardiogenic shock, thoracic surgery, and complex hemodynamic management.

The ideal traveler has experience with post-operative open-heart patients, CRRT, temporary and permanent pacemakers, pre- and post-cath care, ventilators, mediastinal and chest tubes, arterial lines, hypothermia protocols, and titratable cardiac and vasoactive drips. IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz experience is preferred. Nurses read their own strips every four hours, titrate drips, and may float to ACU, ICU, Med-Surg, or Tele as needed. Self-scheduling and block scheduling requests are often accommodated, with weekend coverage every other weekend and no call requirement.
