Job Description

This travel contract is designed for a Step-Down Registered Nurse with cardiac experience, including post-operative CABG and valve patients. You will care for patients requiring continuous telemetry and advanced cardiac monitoring, including those recovering from open-heart procedures, mitral clips, TAVR, thoracotomy, pneumothorax, hemothorax, chest tube placement, and other complex cardiopulmonary conditions. Your next assignment comes with a cardiac-focused itinerary.

The role includes 12-hour day shifts, EPIC documentation, cardiac drip titration, IV starts, rhythm interpretation, and collaboration with the nursing care team. Candidates must have step-down or PCU experience with documented 1:5 ratio experience; ICU experience alone does not meet the requirement. BLS, ACLS, NIH certification, and successful completion of an online EKG and telemetry competency assessment are required. Travelers should be prepared to float to medically appropriate assignments, including respiratory-focused units, and to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled. Navy blue scrubs are required.
