Job Description:

This opportunity is perfect for experienced cardiac ICU RNs ready to take on a 13-week contract in Wausau, Wisconsin. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1930, caring for post-op hearts, patients experiencing AMI, cardiogenic shock, and those in induced hypothermia. Your role involves managing complex cases, performing line placements and removals, and responding to cardioversions. Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, predominantly critical and acute care. You’ll be part of a small but busy 12-bed CICU, with patient ratios of 2:1 for CRRT and 1:1 for Impella support. The contract offers guaranteed weekly hours, with flexibility for on-call during low census periods—responses required within one hour if you choose to take calls. You’ll need a Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least two years of cardiac ICU experience. Preference is given to those familiar with Swans, IABPs, and post-op cardiac procedures. Charting is preferred in EPIC, and a resilient, independent work ethic is essential for success in this role.
