Job Description:

Join a busy, high-acuity telemetry and respiratory unit in Winston-Salem as a registered nurse on a 13-week travel contract. You'll be providing care for patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, and chest tube management. Expect to work 12-hour night shifts, with a patient ratio typically between 1:4 and 1:5, occasionally stretching to 1:6 in extreme situations. This unit handles ventilated patients, including those on chronic ventilators, with resources like chest tubes, drips, and telemetry monitoring readily available. The team includes a lead RN, respiratory therapists, and an assistant nurse manager, ensuring collaborative support. You'll need at least two years of experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and skills including IV starts, ventilator management, and dysrhythmia interpretation. NIHSS certification is a plus. The unit emphasizes staff flexibility with floating to similar units and accepts first-time travelers. Be prepared to pass an EKG assessment before your start date.
