Job Description:

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a reputable facility located in Rapid City, South Dakota. This 13-week contract offers an opportunity to work 12-hour day shifts, providing comprehensive care to a mixed acuity patient population, including intermediate care, telemetry, and medical-surgical units. You'll be responsible for managing direct admits, ED admits, post-vascular procedures, and cardiac cases such as MI, NSTEMI, STEMI, and post-cardiac cath patients. The role involves interpreting cardiac rhythms, titrating vasoactive medications, managing chest tubes, and supporting post-operative cardiac patients, all within a fast-paced environment that keeps you engaged and challenged. Experience with Epic charting system, cardiac pharmacology, and cardiovascular procedures is essential. This assignment is perfect for nurses with at least 1.5 years of general nursing experience, including one year specifically in PCU, especially those who thrive on handling complex cardiac cases. The unit is supported by a team of CNAs, resource nurses, and 24/7 RT coverage, ensuring a collaborative workflow. Expect partial day orientations, weekend rotations every other week, and no on-call responsibilities.
