Job Description:

Join a busy Med-Surg unit in Spooner, Wisconsin, for a 13-week travel RN contract working 12-hour night shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, including those with pneumonia, CHF, COPD, and post-surgical recoveries, with patient ratios typically around 1:4 or 1:5. You’ll assist with titratable medications like Heparin and Cardizem, and support standard procedures such as EKGs, blood sugar collection, and vital signs. The unit operates with RN-led patient monitoring, including usage of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment. Expect to provide direct patient care during the overnight hours, with a team that includes nurse aids, charge nurses, and occasional float to ED. This assignment offers a focused environment where your positive attitude and adaptability will shine, especially when handling occasional drips titration and collaborative patient management. You’ll participate in a streamlined orientation process and work within a setting that values professionalism, teamwork, and patient safety. The night shift guarantees a unique chance to experience a different pace and perspective of hospital life, all while contributing vital skills in a supportive setting.
