Job Description:

This ICU and progressive care unit in Fort Wayne offers a chance to work with both critically ill and recovering patients, with the opportunity to float between specialties and hone your critical thinking skills. As a traveler, you will manage ventilated patients, initiate and titrate IV drips such as vasopressors and sedation, assist with intubations, and monitor patients dealing with conditions like sepsis, respiratory failure, renal issues, and cardiac events. The setting features a mix of ICU and step-down patients, primarily progressive cases, giving you a diverse and engaging experience. Expect to work three 12-hour night shifts per week, covering a 13-week assignment, with opportunities to collaborate across units and departments while maintaining a patient ratio of up to 1:3. The unit utilizes Phillips heart monitors, Epic EMR, Pyxis, EKG machines, and dopplers, providing a comprehensive environment for critical care nursing.
