Job Description:

This contract role involves working 12-hour night shifts in a busy medical-surgical unit at a large hospital in Fort Wayne. As a medical-surgical RN, you will manage a diverse patient population, including those with chronic illnesses, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders. Your tasks will include assessments, care planning, medication administration, and the utilization of specialized equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitors. The setting emphasizes collaborative inter-professional communication and thorough documentation using Epic, all while navigating a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6. Expect to float to related medical units when needed and participate in a comprehensive orientation that covers hospital policies, Epic training, and unit-specific procedures. This assignment offers a lively and engaging experience with opportunities to apply your expertise in a variety of medical situations, all while delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing care.
