Job Description:

This contract opportunity in Wheeling offers an engaging environment where registered nurses will manage a variety of common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, and urosepsis. You will work in a setting that features a 30-bed unit with a 1:6/7 nurse-to-patient ratio, occasionally expanding to a 1:7 ratio. The shifts are 12 hours, rotating to cover weekends and holidays as needed, with a typical weekly commitment of 36 hours. The role involves collaborating with a charge nurse and assisting a team that includes PCTs, while maintaining flexibility to float when census demands. RN staff must be comfortable titrating heparin drips based on APTT results and adapting to remote telemetry monitored via tech monitors. The scope allows you to be a pivotal part of the patient care team, managing acuity levels in a busy hospital floor while enjoying a mix of routine and challenging cases.
