Job Description:

This 13-week contract position in Montgomery, Alabama, offers an engaging opportunity for a Medical-Surgical (MS) Registered Nurse with approximately 18 months of experience. You will be caring for adult patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure exacerbation, stroke rule-outs, GI/GU issues, weakness, dizziness, and chest pain. While you'll be situated in the ER area, your primary responsibilities involve managing MS inpatient care, performing assessments, administering IVs and blood products, and handling procedures like suctioning, wound care, and ostomy management during transitions from ER to inpatient units. The role emphasizes adaptability, with quick patient turnover and a focus on collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Expect to work with EMR systems like Cerner, utilize IV pumps and monitors, and support the unit with phlebotomy, telemetric monitoring, and other technical procedures. The position includes a 36-hour workweek, including every other weekend or four weekends per month, on 12-hour shifts, either day or night, over a 6-week schedule. orientation will include classroom and on-unit training, especially for travelers new to the facility.
