Job Description:

Join a vibrant surgical medical care center in Evansville for a 13-week contract where you'll work the night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM. This role is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment caring for post-surgical patients such as those recovering from Whipple procedures, vascular surgeries, heart caths, bariatric, ENT, and podiatry cases. Your responsibilities include managing IV insertions, chest tube and drain care, epidural management, wound care, blood product administration, and handling complex charting in EPIC. The assignment offers an engaging mix of patient assessments and critical thinking, requiring resilience and adaptability. You’ll collaborate with seasoned charge nurses and a dedicated team in a unit with a strong culture of teamwork and celebrations. Cross-campus floating to nearby facilities may be required with minimal notice; however, your primary focus remains on delivering exceptional care during your overnight shift. This contract presents a unique chance to sharpen your skills in a teaching hospital setting, with opportunities to precept students and new hires.
