Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment in Weirton, West Virginia, offers a hands-on nursing role within a busy hospital setting. RNs will work 12-hour rotating shifts—covering days and nights—and will be responsible for patient assessments including vitals, BGMs, EKGs, and applying heart monitors. The unit frequently manages pneumonia, UTIs, AMS, GI bleeds, alcohol withdrawal, and falls. You'll be expected to titrate certain drips such as heparin, bumex, and lasix, with exceptions for cardiac drips. Charge nurses balance patient loads and may take assignments during their shift; nurse aides assist with basic patient care duties like bathing, feeding, and repositioning. RT staff handle breathing treatments and respiratory equipment, while telemetry monitors the unit, with nurses focusing on monitoring rather than interpreting strips. Flexibility with floating and shift adjustments is essential, as is working every other weekend and possible holiday rotation.
