Job Description:

Step into a travel contract supporting a PCU Registered Nurse role at an acute care hospital setting in Anchorage, Alaska. This unit functions as a stepdown area from ICU, bringing together a mix of medical specialties and disciplines while using a co-care/virtual nursing model. You’ll work alongside a Virtual RN and CNA team for each patient—so your day-to-day includes bedside nursing responsibilities plus coordination with virtual support for admissions, discharges, rounding, education, and safety rounds.

Expect a patient mix with significant cardiac volume (including CHF, MI, post-procedure TAVR/MVR, pacemaker patients, arrhythmias, and more), alongside respiratory needs such as COVID/flu complications, COPD/asthma exacerbations, trach patients (>24 hours since placement), and chronic home ventilator cases. You’ll also encounter overflow for neuro and renal patients, as well as medically complex surgical cases requiring close monitoring.

Shift structure is consistent: 12-hour nights on a 3x12 schedule. You must be ready to float within scope to meet facility needs, including lower acuity areas. This assignment is a great fit for an RN who can balance steady-paced bedside work with the added teamwork of a virtual nursing model—no thrill-seeking required, just dependable performance under night shift demands.
