Job Description:

Respiratory Therapist needed for a 13-week backfill contract in Austin, Texas—supporting an adult acute care RT department located in the basement. This assignment is built around 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM–6:00 AM) with CRT accepted and no call required. You’ll join a team of about 50 staff and typically cover roughly 35–40 RT assignments per shift, with weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per month).

In this role, you’ll perform core respiratory therapy services including nebulizers, CPT, arterial blood gases, ventilator management, inhaled nitric oxide, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation assistance, and transporting patients on mechanical ventilation to imaging areas like CT/MRI. Work is supported by GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC, using Meditech for documentation. Adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting is required, with adult critical care experience (ICU/ED) preferred.
