Job Description:

Join a short-stay intermediate unit team in Wausau, Wisconsin, supporting clinical interview services on a travel healthcare contract built around rapid admissions and discharges. In this 13-week assignment, you’ll work 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week), floating as needed across inpatient units including IMC and CTU, with a focus on short stays (typically up to 48 hours). Expect frequent movement in and out of the unit and the opportunity to adapt quickly—your day-to-day will include reading and interpreting rhythm strips and managing common short-stay presentations such as COPD and dehydration, as well as pre/post-op urology and GI cases.

The unit operates with a low-census model that may offer eligible low census unbillable hours (typically in 4-hour increments), meaning you could be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift when census drops. This contract is designed for a resilient traveler who can work independently, stay flexible with shift-to-shift changes, and collaborate with the team and ancillary staff to keep workflows moving smoothly.
