Job Description:

Join a travel nursing team on a Med/Surg unit in Oklahoma City, where your focus will be caring for inpatients in the pre- and post-surgical stages. This assignment centers on acute care surgical-floor experience, with stepdown/PCU experience required—so you’ll be working with patients who may need closer monitoring during recovery.

In this role, you’ll assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, monitor physiological data, intervene when needed, and administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed. You’ll document patient responses to interventions and treatments, note changes in physician orders, and assist with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures. You’ll also coordinate care by delegating tasks to support staff and making referrals for patient care needs. ENT and/or transplant experience is preferred, and the unit supports a variety of post-operative needs, including patients with drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and NGT/DHT, with some requiring stepdown-level care.

Weather:

Expect generally mild, seasonally pleasant weather, with warm days and cooler evenings. It’s common to see sunny stretches alongside the occasional brief rain or wind shift.
