Job Description:

Step into a busy, fast-paced Emergency Department setting as an RN (ED) travel clinician in Charlotte, North Carolina. This assignment supports adults and pediatrics across a wide mix of emergency presentations, with frequent acute, time-sensitive cases that keep every shift focused and purposeful. Expect heavy stabilization activity, including severe trauma (such as GSW and stabbings) along with high-volume mental health and substance-related presentations (homelessness, drug use, and ETOH dependence), plus the full range of common ED conditions including stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, abdominal pain, and DM/DKA.

You’ll work 12-hour day shifts in a unit organized around 34 beds/32 vertical care areas, typically running with a variable RN model (often 1:4), plus CNA support (often 1:20). The ED uses Epic and relies on equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell for medication dispensing. If you enjoy making quick, confident decisions while staying steady under pressure, this role is built for you.

A single “mission-ready” highlight: the department handles high-intensity emergencies and must be comfortable with skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, along with PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (and TNCC is preferred). Be prepared to float within the region as needed and to rotate weekends every other, with no call required.
