Job Description:

Join our team as a MedSurg/Tele RN on a 13-week contract working the night shift in a telemetry unit that specializes in patients with mental health diagnoses. This role involves managing a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 12-hour night schedule, with a focus on patients experiencing psychiatric and medical conditions such as dementia and confusion. The assignment includes completing critical skills like Foley catheter insertion and wound care, with a strong emphasis on maintaining sterile technique in a fast-paced environment. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes security staff, behavior health techs, and access to a psychiatrist on-site. Substantial clinical skills in telemetry and med/surg nursing are essential, with preferred experience in psychiatric settings. This assignment offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with a focus on safety, evidenced by video-monitored units and chemical restraints when necessary. Expect to develop your skills in a challenging but rewarding setting, with opportunities to interact with both psychiatric and medical patient populations.
