Job Description:

Join our team for a 13-week travel RN contract on a Cardio Thoracic unit in Peoria, IL. You will work 12-hour day shifts, providing specialized care for patients recovering from lung surgeries, pacemaker insertions, and various cardiac conditions like MI, CHF, and A fib. This assignment offers the opportunity to hone skills in EKG interpretation and medication titration, including drips like Cardizem and heparin. The setting features a 70-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. A typical day involves troubleshooting ventilators, reading Phillips monitor strips, and collaborating with experienced charge nurses and PCTs. This role is ideal for RNs seeking a hands-on experience with advanced cardiac surgeries and the autonomy to manage titratable drips independently.
