Job Description:

Join a Level 3b Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a 13-week travel contract in Oxnard, California. This role involves providing specialized care to premature and critically ill newborns across a variety of gestational ages. The position features 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7am, with a focus on managing complex cases such as premies, sepsis, cooling protocols, and substance withdrawal. You will work alongside full-time neonatologists and be required to attend deliveries when possible. The unit operates with a low patient-to-nurse ratio, offering an engaging environment for experienced NICU nurses eager to apply their skills in a busy, fast-paced setting. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to care for newborns with diverse medical needs, including ventilated infants with Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillators, while floating to L&D and postpartum to support maternal-newborn care as needed.
