Job Description:

This NICU/Nursery contract position places you in a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that specializes in caring for infants around 30 weeks gestation and above. As a neonatal nurse in this role, you'll take the lead in managing newborns with a variety of needs, including those requiring bubble CPAP, ventilators, and other respiratory support. You’ll be the go-to nurse for babies delivered via C-section or at delivery, comfortable handling the critical moments immediately after birth. This facility expects you to serve as a charge RN with experience in managing high-acuity, early gestation patients, and be ready to assist in delivery rooms. The work involves ensuring smooth operations on a busy unit, reading monitor strips, managing titratable drips like fluids, TPN, and blood, and collaborating with neonatal telehealth and in-house NNP staff. The shifts are 12 hours nighttime hours from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays. Only two RNs are scheduled per shift, which allows for a focused, team-oriented environment. This assignment is ideal for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes neonatal care, and are comfortable with some float requirements to postpartum units when NICU volume is low.
